23 Jeroboam II of Israel.[a] Jeroboam, the son of Joash, became the king of Israel in Samaria during the fifteenth year of the reign of Amaziah, the son of Joash, the king of Judah. He reigned for forty-one years.

24 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.
